Mrs. Mary Lou Roberts was born May 12, 1920, in Meridian, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Alfre Brown and Ms. Caroline Fikes Williams. She departed this life on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at her home. Mary Lou was the youngest of eleven children. She was home schooled and of the Baptist faith. Mary Lou united in marriage to Caleb Roberts, Sr., and three daughters were born to this union. She managed the household of Dr. Ben Martin. Among her many interests were fishing, dominos, dancing and bingo. May Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Caleb Roberts, Sr., six sisters—Lucy Williams, Pinkie Williams, Laura Williams, Arirfaire Williams, Lunell Fitch and Blanche McCarthy; four brothers—Charlette Williams, John Williams, Herbert Williams and Elester (Julia) Blanks, Sr.; two stepchildren—Mae Carol Buckles and Caleb Roberts, Jr.; and two special nieces—Geraldine Gates Grace and Caroline Blanks Bourrage. Left to cherish Mary Lou’s memory are daughters—Linda Ellis, Mary Ann Roberts (Johnny) Ross, Estella Roberts (John Ray) Willis, and Claudia Ann Ball; sixteen grandchildren—Contina (Michael), Ricky, Timothy (Davre), Tiffany (Derrick), Tamekia, Sharita, Shanaya (Johnathan), Jennifer, Crystal, Larry, Willie (Gina), Mildred, Monique, Lamont, Kokeya, Shonna, Candace (Jerell), and Ramona (Andre); thirty-four great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; three nieces—Betty Jones, Dian Walker, and Shirley Blanks; two nephews—Elester Blanks, Jr., and David Proctor; God children—Robert Hinton and Betty Jones; and a host of relatives and friends
