At the age of 68, Douglas passed away on January 28, 2017.
Beloved brother of Diane (Michael) Oxford.
Loving uncle of Michael (Michelle) Oxford and Kelly Oxford and great-uncle of Brandon and Breanne.
Cherished friend of Rachad (Jan) Shishakly and Mark (Elaine) Mardirosian.
He will also be missed by his neighbors, co-workers and friends.
At 9 months old, Douglas was diagnosed with Polio and despite this illness, he did not let that deter him from his success he achieved during his life.
Douglas was a graduate of Waverly High School, Lansing Community College and the University of Michigan, where he earned a Masters of Architecture Degree in 1973.
He worked 25 years at Albert Kahn as an architect and was very active in local politics.
There will be a gathering of friends on Friday, Feb. 10, 6 - 9 p.m. at Atwater In the Park 1175 Lakepoint Street, Grosse Point Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are to: Donor's Charity of Choice.
