Randall James Blevins

<p>Randall James Blevins, Adored Husband, Father, grandfather, son, brother and Friend to many went to Heaven on May 8, 2020 after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surround in love from family and friends and his wife by his side. He painted an amazing sunrise that morning to let us know he made it.</p> <p>He was born in Milwaukee WI on October 22, 1956 to Richard (Dick) and Joan Blevins. He is one of 5 kids, Bruce, Lorrie, Brian, and Ricky. The family moved to Fairbanks when he was young and it has been his home a majority of his life. Randy and Carol met in WA while he was there working and moved back to Fairbanks in 1988 where they married August 6 at Alaskaland. They raised 5 children together, Maggie, Kristina, Michelle, Kathleen and Jimmy. Randy loved his kids but his real pride and joy is their 17 grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;If the grandkids were around, there was at least one or two in his lap reading books, watching tv or just snuggling. Family was always a priority so Randy and Carol traveled to the lower 48 in the winter for a few years making stops to visit family and friends along the way.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Randy was a heavy equipment operator with Local 302 for 45 year and joined when he was 18 years old following in his dads footsteps. He worked for years on the North Slope running a rolligon for Crowley Catco in the winters and was featured on an episode of Arctic Roughnecks in 2009 showing us what his life was like up there. In the summer he was a crane operator with Precision Cranes, his latest passion was teaching his love of Cranes to future operators through the union hall after his retirement from construction work. His brothers and sisters of Local 302 were his second family.</p> <p>Randy loved the outdoors and life revolved around fishing and hunting seasons. Some of our greatest family memories were packing up the old suburban and boat and taking off down the highway to where the fish were. Some of his favorite places were King fishing on the Gulkana, dipnetting in Chitina and Silver salmon fishing in Valdez. Every September he went up the Salcha river to what he referred to as Gods Country for moose hunting and where his family will spread his ashes so he can spend his eternal days there.</p> <p>Randy is proceeded in death by his father Richard Blevins and his grandparents.</p> <p>Randy is survived by his mother Joan Blevins, wife of 32 years Carol Blevins, daughter Maggie Riegle (John), daughter Kristina Wood (Shawn) daughter Michelle Stepp (Danny) daughter Kathleen Acosta (Rafael) son Jimmy Blevins (Jaime) Grandchildren Colby, Hunter, Jayann, Jacklynn, Daniel, Asher, Elijah, Jameson, Ariha, Cheyenne, Sierra, Dorothy, Kayla, Dylan, Jayden, Lillian and Leslie. Brother Bruce (Jane) Sister Lorrie (Kent) Brother Brian (Sue) Brother Ricky (Kelley) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.</p> <p>A celebration of life will be held in Fairbanks at the pipeline training center, 3605 Cartwright Ct. July 26 2020 at 2pm.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
