Russell Paul Mardin, Sr., 83 of Whitefield, NH died at home on Saturday, February 17th, 2018. Russ was born on June 10, 1934 in Lisbon, NH. He was the son of Lawrence and Barbara (Wilkins) Mardin. He lived in the North Country the majority of his life. Russ was a veteran of the US Navy. He was later employed as a tool and die machinist. Russ was an avid photographer and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of photography with others. He used his gifts to serve as a long-time volunteer with the NH Fish and Game, Fish Hatchery in Twin Mountain, NH, and with the Whitefield PD. Hunting, fishing and touring the great North Woods were some of his other passions.

Russ is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mardin of Whitefield; two sons, Russell Mardin, Jr. of Bethlehem, NH, Ricky Mardin of Lunenburg, VT, three daughters, Terri Hiner of Villa Rica, Georgia, Bonnie Kilkenny, of Twin Mountain, NH, Cynthia Mardin, Blairstown, New Jersey; two step daughters, Scarlet Goelz and her husband Robert, Daphne Cassady and her husband Lewis; several grandchildren; great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Greg Mardin, brothers Donald Mardin and Lawrence Mardin, and sister, Joan Woodbury.

There will be no calling hours. A Catholic interment committal service will take place at 11AM on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at the Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield, NH.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Gate of Heaven Parish, 163 Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 and or to the NH Fish & Game, Twin Mountain Fish Hatchery, Attn: Business Office, 11 Hazen Dr. Concord, NH 03301 .
