Joseph Gregory Burba, Sr. Obituary

Joseph Gregory Burba, Sr., 80, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away January 29, 2017. He was born November 6, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph and Marie Margaret (Staschke) Burba. Joseph enlisted to the Navy as a corps man and served for four years in the medical division. He had a successful pharmaceutical sales career for over 40 years. Joseph also enjoyed breeding, training, and racing thoroughbred race horses and had his own farm with his wife, Patricia. He also loved the outdoors and instilled this in his children and grandchildren, taking them camping and hiking, and also to see the world. An avid traveler, he and Patricia traveled all over the world sharing their love for Italy with their granddaughter, Laura. Joseph was a very devout and strong Catholic and his faith was of most importance to him. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Phyllis Marie Burba; and brother, Robert Burba. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Burba of Hot Springs; son, Joseph Burba, Jr. of Illinois; daughter, Christine Burba of Hot Springs; brothers, Thomas Burba of Minnesota, Vincent Burba of Illinois; and grandchildren, Laura Wilson and Rachel Gore (Garrett) both of Illinois. Rosary will be 10:30 a.m. Friday with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church with Father George Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
