R. Grace Johnston, 87, of Royal, Arkansas, passed away January 29, 2017. She was born November 6, 1929, in Hot Springs to Clarence William and Verna (Byers) Kassaw. Grace enjoyed painting, quilting, and gardening. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; son, William “Bill” Johnston; one sister; and three brothers. Survivors include daughters, Verna Bailey (Don), Marsha Cannon (Curtis), Carolyn Maddon; brother, Glenn Kassaw; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and another great-great-grandchild on the way. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Grace’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Brent Roach and Bro. Fred Etheridge officiating. Pallbearers include Tommy Maddon, Tommy Maddon, Jr., Curtis Cannon, Darren Cannon, Don Bailey, and Curtis Cash. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff and residents of Lake Hamilton Health and Rehab, Earnestine Rowe, Sharon Curtis, Carolee Tremayne, and Joanie Ward.
