Mrs. Jennie Johnson Gunnells, age 73, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Friday, May 8th, 2020 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Mrs. Gunnells was born on December 18th, 1946 to the late Paul Johnson and Ethel Hightower Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy (Luke) Gunnells; sister, Paula Ellison; brother, Kris Johnson.

Mrs. Gunnells was a resident of Valley Manor Park where she loved reading and playing games on her I-pad.  She was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church in Valley.  She was retired from the City of Lanett. 

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Benita) Gunnells, Jeff (Beth) Johnson; two grandchildren, Maddie and Lilly Johnson of Valley; sister-in-law, Peggy (W.L.) Gillenwaters, Valley; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 11th, 2020 at the Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley, Alabama with the Reverend Paul Messer officiating.
