Willie Marie Biggs Witt, 102, of Axton, VA passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Witt was born on September 2, 1914 in North Carolina to the late George Preston Biggs and Nannie Dalton Biggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard William Witt, Sr., sons, Larry Witt, and Michael Witt, sisters, Hilda Gilley, Lillie Biggs, Hilda Martin, Kate Laymon and Nina Martin, brothers, Isom Biggs and George Biggs. Mrs. Witt was a homemaker that loved to cook for her family whom she had a special love. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Harris, and husband Fred of Ridgeway, Brenda Moore and husband John of Reidsville, NC, Myrna Knight and husband Roy, of Eden, NC, Maxine Lucas and husband Sam of Pembroke and Majorie Bowles and husband Roy of Eden, NC: sons, Richard William “Billy” Witt and wife Susan of Bassett, Travis Witt and wife Inez of Bassett. She was also survived by six generations of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren which totaled one hundred and twenty four. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville, VA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Norris Funeral Services, Stuart, VA with Elder Roy Bowles officiating.
