Tony P. "T.J." Marlow Carrollton, Georgia Obituary

Tony P. "T.J." Marlow

Tony Patrick “T.J.” Marlow, Jr, age 33 of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. He was born November 01, 1983 in Carrollton to Tony P. Marlow, Sr and the late Carole Sue Johnson Marlow. He was a 2002 Carrollton High School graduate and worked in the screen printing and T-shirt industry for most of his adult life. T.J. had a strong appreciation for music and frequently attended concerts and other music venues all over the country. He was a musician himself as he played the drums and guitar and could be seen on occasion playing local venues with various bands. T.J. also liked to paint. His talents were recognized early in life and many family and friends will continue to enjoy some of his work for years to come. He also enjoyed traveling and rarely met a stranger. In addition to living in Carrollton, T.J. also lived in Atlanta, Charleston, SC and Denver, CO. While living in these cities, he met many new friends and enjoyed great music and good times. He was also very proud of his great group of friends. Though music was a common bond that many shared with T.J., simply having a great time and laughing was what really drew people to him. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, George Johnson. He is survived by his father, Tony Marlow, Sr. of Carrollton; brother, Chris Marlow (Beth); nephews, Cooper and Patrick; grandparents, Milton and Virginia Marlow and Sue Norman (John); uncles, David and Steve Marlow; and cousins Kim, Lori, Cass, Joe and Ginna. A private family interment was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, February 2nd. T.J.'s family and friends will host a Celebration of Life event on Saturday, February 11th from 6-10 P.M. at the WPA Center (Carrollton Rock Gym). The address is 590 N. Cliff St. Carrollton, GA 30117. All family and friends are invited to attend and dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of T.J’s mother, Carole Marlow or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of T.J. Marlow. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
