Sarah Jane Poos

Sarah Jane Poos, age 99, of Eaton, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center, Eaton. She was born July 30, 1917 in Eaton to the late Harry and Bertha (Nunning) Gibbins, Sr. She was a 1935 graduate of Dixon High School; was a former member of the Democratic Central Committee; and was a member of Visitation Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Sodality. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Poos, Jr., whom she married in March of 1940; daughter and son-in-law Sue Ann and Kenny Renner; great grandson Joshua Renner; sister Betty Gibbins; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Sara) Gibbins, Robert Gibbins, Harry (Martha) Gibbins Jr. and Thomas Gibbins. She is survived by her daughter Ginny (John) Weiler of Camden; grandson Joe (Elaine) Renner of Eaton; granddaughter Teresa (Steve) Truitt of Hamilton; great grandchildren: Kellie (Glenn) Quintero, Alan Renner, Brandon Renner, Connor Truitt, Annie Truitt and Ian Truitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon at the Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Father Gene Vonderhaar officiating.
