Colleen Dietrich Obituary

It is with a feeling of great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Wife and Mother, Colleen Phyllis Dietrich of Mendham, Saskatchewan.  Colleen was born on August 11, 1964 to Joe and Erma Wagner.  She was a baby sister for Blaine and Michelle and later she became a big sister to Blaire who completed the family.  Colleen grew up in Liebenthal, Saskatchewan.  She always had a zest for life and living.  If there was an adventure to be had or some exploring to be done she was in!!  Sports was a huge part of her life, she was either taking part or cheering in the stands.  She loved her Blue Jays!  After graduating from High School, Colleen attended Marvel Beauty School in Saskatoon.  In 1984 she began her career as a hair stylist. Her career took her to Kindersley, Eston and finally Leader, Saskatchewan.   After she received her Journeyman’s Certificate she opened “The Beauty Clinic” in Leader.  Her kind and caring personality assisted in her ability to run a very successful business for over 20 years.  Colleen married the love of her life Jerome (Jerry) Dietrich on November 12th, 1988.  She and Jerry became parents to a beautiful baby girl on January 11,1993, Shelbie Lisil.  A bouncing baby boy, Bailey Dwayne, arrived on October 26,1994.  Through the years, along with being a business owner, she was also a very involved Wife and Mother.  She took part in the operation of the family farm as well as cheering on her children in any sport or other interest they may have had.   Jerry and Colleen loved to travel.  They travelled to many destinations through their 30 years of married life.  Colleen wore many hats over the years, being a member of Parish Council, a Catechism Teacher, Ball Coach, Community Volunteer and  a supporter of any community event to name a few. She always made time for her hobbies and she had many.  Her artistic side was evident when looking at the ceramics, stained glass work and the scrapbooks that she hand-crafted.  After her retirement in 2014, Colleen was looking forward to farming full-time along side her husband, however, God had different plans for her. Colleen is survived by her loving husband, Jerry, her daughter, Shelbie Dietrich of Saskatoon, her son, Bailey Dietrich also of Saskatoon, her father, Joe Wagner of Medicine Hat, her sister, Michelle Sehn (Paul) of Fox Valley, brothers, Blaine Wagner of Fox Valley and Blaire Wagner (Kimberley) of Unity.  Also mourning the loss are Jerry’s siblings Marie, Margaret, Agnes, Basil, Paul, Florence, Irene, and brother in-law Harlan Deering.  As well, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Having been the kind person she was, Colleen also leaves behind many friends.  Colleen was pre-deceased by a brother, Dwayne, her in-laws, Basil and Margaret Dietrich, 2 nieces, Lisil Dietrich and Kendra Meier, a sister-in-law Joan Deering, and as recently as April 6th, 2019 by her Mother, Erma Wagner.  Rest well Colleen, until we meet again.
