Mrs. Hilda Creed Marshall, 91, wife of the late Mr. Joseph A. “Joe” Marshall, Sr, of Midland Drive, Graniteville S.C, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Woodbridge Senior Assisted Living, Clinton, SC surrounded by her children. Mrs. Marshall was born in Gloverville, SC to the late Victor Teague and Lena Jessie Purvis Creed. She was a proud 1949 graduate of Lander University where she made life long friends. She retired from Aiken County Public School System with 28 years of service. A long time member of Langley United Methodist Church, she served as their pianist, organist, and choir director. In 2013, the Tiger Brotherhood at Clemson University named Mrs. Marshall “Mother of the Year”. Surviving are her three children: Joseph A. “Joey” Marshall, Jr. (Toni), Graniteville, SC, Mary Victoria “Vickie” Dunn (Bob), Chappells, SC, and Elena Helyn Marshall, Bath, SC; her grandchildren: Joseph Logan Marshall (Sherri), Christopher Coley Marshall, Heather Marie Christiansen (Jon), Holly Katherine Clardy (Zane) and one great-grandson, Bayes Christiansen. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829. A graveside service celebrating Mrs. Marshall's life will be at 11 o’clock Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, South Carolina. Honorary pallbearers will be the Langley United Methodist Church Men and her grandchildren. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, we will practice social distancing.
