Charles Taylor DeWayne Gilbert, affectionately known as “Tater Bug”, age 20, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017.
Taylor, the son of Harlan Gilbert and Nettie Whittamore Helton, was born in Madison County on July 9, 1996. He was working for Waffle House as a cook. He enjoyed playing video games and listening to music. His greatest aspiration was to become a police officer. He lived to simply make the world a better place and was always known by the smile on his face.
Taylor is survived his father: Harlan Gilbert; his mother and step-father: Nettie Whittamore Helton and Robert; three brothers: Timothy Rambo, Anthony Helton and Robert Helton, Jr.; four sisters: Ashley Rembert, Mindy Helton, Kati Whittamore and Amber Gilbert and his best friend: Oscar Remirez.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Charles Rhodus and Dora Miller Rhodus and paternal grandparents: Tom Lee and Peggy James Lee.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2016 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Tunya Adams officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
