Roy Henry Savage Obituary

Mr. Savage spent his entire career in the industrial construction industry, working throughout the United States. He began in the field as a pipe fitter in Augusta, Ga. but joined Spartan Construction, Inc. in 1974 as a Senior Vice President of Construction and owner. After 21 years, in 1996, Mr. Savage joined Teton Industry as a senior partner where he remained until his retirement in 2015. His retirement was spent with friends and family golfing, hunting and fishing. Roy retired continued consulting for Summit Industrial until his passing. Roy was a major participant in the United Way annual Golf Tournament and the Dawson County annual BBQ for United Way. Mr. Savage was very committed in time and funding to Dunbar Elementary in Atlanta as well as HERO for the American Red Cross of NE Georgia. Roy was always the first to respond to families in need and had a very big heart. He will be missed by all. Roy is survived by his wife Emma Espinosa Savage, sons; Roy Jr. and daughter in law Raluca, Scott and Paul; grandson, Clay Savage; sisters and brothers; Clarence Savage, Irene Dye, Barbara Bullock, George Savage, Carole Odom and Doc Savage; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 4 PM Friday, January 27th at Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with Rev. Joey Hatchell officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the United Way.
