James R. Millis, age 69 of Golconda, Illinois passed away January 22, 2017 at home. He was born January 19, 1948 in Metropolis, IL to Laurel and Louise (Tabor) Millis. He married Paula R. Chittenden on October 29, 1966. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a retired truck driver. James is survived by his wife, Paula Millis of Golconda, IL; two sons, Dennis Millis of Golconda, IL, Daniel (Brandy) Millis of Harrisburg, IL; five grandchildren; brother, Donnie (Doris) Millis of Golconda, IL. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Ratliff. Graveside service will be 10:00 am on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Palestine Cemetery in Golconda, IL. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9227, American Legion Post 719, and ARMY National Guard Funeral Honors Team.
