Roberta “Robin” Bruce, age 75, was a 45 year resident of River Forest, IL passed away in her daughter’s home in Lebanon, IL on January 23, 2017. Robin was born on September 16, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Harold Barclay and Margaret (nee Zinn) Hargreaves. She was raised in Malvern, PA and graduated from Conestoga Valley High School. After high school, Robin attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught U.S. history in Maryland and LaGrange, IL. She also was a substitute teacher for Special Education in the River Forest and Oak Park School Districts for many years. Robin was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, IL, where she was a Prayer Partner as well as a Sunday School teacher. She was also an avid perennial gardener. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert E. Bruce of River Forest, IL, her loving children; Jennifer (Brad) Giemza of Hermosa Beach, CA, Bonnie (Tom) Krumsieg, of Lebanon, IL, and Robert E. III (Erin), of Chicago, IL. She was the cherished grandmother of Jackson Giemza, Abigail Giemza, Ellie Krumsieg, Jonathan Krumsieg, David Krumsieg, Luke Krumsieg, Grace Krumsieg, Hannah Krumsieg, Naomi Krumsieg, and Fiona Bruce. Robin is also survived by her sisters; Sheila Hargreaves of Alexandria, VA, Louise Lavenau of West Chicago, IL and Martha (Carl) Brown of Morgantown, PA. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3 from 10 a.m. until time of Service 11 a.m. at Calvary Memorial Church, 931 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL 60301. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL. In honor of Robin, memorials to Calvary Memorial Church or Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O.
