Phyllis Irene Johnson of Magnolia passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at home. She was 77.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 3, 1939 in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late Edward and Dorothy Flees.
She worked in food service as a cook for Red Lobster and Playtex, as well as working as a bartender at the Brown Fox and Heartbreak Hotel. Mrs. Johnson volunteered through family services on base, helping many young families in the area adjust to Air Force life. While working with the Air Force she worked in the chow hall as well. She enjoyed most of all taking care of her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Johnson, and grandson Roger W. Paitsel, II.
She is survived by her five sons, Claude, David (Brianna), Sidney “Zak” (Susan), Roger (Marylou) and Billy Joel Paitsel; daughter, Tonia (Paul) Inge; brothers, Joe, Grey, Edward and Mike Flees; sisters, Sandy Houson and Cindy Mcoure; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11AM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn Zion Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
