Seret Victor Ybema Kentwood, Michigan Obituary

Seret Victor Ybema

Seret graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and then continued his education and baseball career at Western Michigan University. Plans adjusted as he chose to serve our flag and country and become an Air Force pilot serving in World War II. He was married to his wife Marianne for 43 years before her passing in 1987. After returning from war, he completed his education at Michigan State University. In 1959, he opened up his own restaurant Kum-Bak where he proudly served the community until 1975. Then he went to Thierca where he assembled plane instruments. Seret loved working with wood and was very skilled as he built all of his homes. Once he retired from Thierca at 65 years old, he could be found enjoying himself golfing, fishing, or hunting. He also found time to help work for his son building homes. Seret is survived by his children Marcia (Tom) Stack, Jerry (Joyce) Ybema, Doug (Julie) Ybema; seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a celebration of his life at a future time.
