Patricia W. “Pat” Hilscher, age 96 of Smyrna, passed away Sunday, January 15. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January 18 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Wednesday, January 18 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hilscher had been a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, where she taught Sunday School and was church librarian for several years. She retired from the Cobb County Public Library system after 23 years at the Lewis A. Ray Library. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Fred A. Hilscher. She is survived by her sons Donald F. (Mary Rose) Hilscher of Hiawassee, William N. “Bill”(Linda) Hilscher of Marietta, daughters Patricia A. Hilscher of Smyrna, Elizabeth “Libby” (David) Lengel of Macon, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the First Baptist Church of Smyrna Building fund.
