Lawrence E. Hurtubise

Lawrence (Larry) Eugene Hurtubise passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 15th, 2017. Larry was born on 7-7-27 in Detroit, Michigan to Francis Xavier and Elizabeth (Belisle). Larry married Charlene Gorman on August 9, 1958 in Pinckney, Michigan.  They spent the next 58 years raising a beautiful family of nine children:  Sandra (Jim Breitenbach), Julie (Brian Ledford), Mary (Josh Loyer), Theresa (Jeff O'Donnell), Kathleen (Kevin Lin), Charleen (Conor Doyle), Laura, Sarah (James Brewer), and Lawrence Joseph (April Ridley).  Larry cherished his 14 grandchildren:  Noel, Emilia, Jacob, Riley, Brooks, Patrick, Katie, David, Jean Michelle, Ari, Dearbhaile, Donnchadh, Ruaidhrí, and Jacob.  Larry was blessed by an extended family and many wonderful friends.   He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bill and Raymond, and sisters Julie (Lamb) and Cecile (Gakle).   Family and friends will gather at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg MI, on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 from 4-8 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney, MI on Friday, January 20th, 2017 at 11 a.m. with a gathering beginning 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following organizations:  Arbor Hospice, Meals on Wheels of Livingston County, or the American Legion in Pinckney. Please leave a message of comfort for Larry's family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.

Larry was a great guy. I worked with him at Wal Mart many years ago. That guy was one of the hardest workers. To his family; I am sorry for your loss.

Mr. Hurtubise was a kind man and very patient. I spent a lot of time at the Hurtubise household in Pinckney and even with 9 kids, Mr. Hurtubise was always amiable, patient and kind. Much love to the family. Pinckney lost a good one.

I am so lucky to have had Larry as an uncle. Like his brothers and sisters that went before him (and I'm not saying this just because they were family) they were truly kind and generous people.
