After a long and very full life, we announce the passing of Virginia Cynthia Wood Anderson.Virginia (age 86) of Rocky Face, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2017 while surrounded by her family.  She was born June 15, 1930 in Rocky Face, Georgia. Virginia was a lifelong member of Rocky Face Baptist Church.  Virginia's life included her most valued career of motherhood; bookkeeper at Georgia Power; and substitute teacher for kindergarten and early school years for local schools and churches. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Bill" Anderson; and parents, Carl and Louise Davis Wood of Rocky Face, Georgia.Virginia and Bill's children and family include: Bob Anderson (Linda) of Birmingham, Alabama; David Anderson of Rocky Face; Patti Anderson Spell (Tim) of Spanish Fort, Alabama; Larry Anderson (Sue) of Rocky Face, Georgia; three grandchildren, Joshua and Jake Spell of Spanish Fort, Alabama; Lynn Anderson Hutchison (Marten) and their children, Chloe and Nicholas; and Virginia's brother, Jack Marion Wood of Dalton.  Nieces and nephews include Beth Wood Powell (Mark), Kathy Wood Morgan (Steve); Cliff Wood (Kelli), Nathan Holcomb (Brooke), all of Dalton; Wanda Hamrick Wiggins (Dennis) and family of Florida; Scotty Wood and Kim Wood Czyz of Dalton, Georgia.  Grand-nieces and nephews include Kate and Drake Morgan; Ben, Taylor, Thomas, and Emily Wood, and R. D. Holcomb; Lee Wood; Ken Wood and Sheila Reed of Carrollton; and numerous friends and family in Rocky Face and Dalton, Georgia.Cousins and extended family include Milton and Shirley Wood of Social Circle, Georgia; Judy Wood of Carrollton, Georgia; Sidney Davis Baxter and family of Rocky Face, Georgia; Doris Masters; and numerous other extended family.The family would like to express very special thanks to the caring professionals at Regency Health and Rehabilitation; and Hamilton Health and Hospice.The family will receive friends at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral home on Wednesday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Milton Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Virginia was raised on her parents' farm which for many years was Valley Drive Dairy.  Virginia loved nature, especially redbirds; and was always remarkably able to find four leaf clovers in almost any lawn, any time.
