DURHAM: Joyce Couch Elliott, 79, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Carl Stirrett Couch and the late Alice Vickers Couch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger E. Elliott and son, Larry Elliott. She was a Christian woman who relied on her faith in God. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her sons, Skip Elliott and wife Teresa Ellis, Ray Elliott; daughters, Sherry Elliott, Teresa E. Higgins; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 21 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Pastor David Trump officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
