Yvonne Doreen Blackburn

With deep sadness, the family of Yvonne Doreen Blackburn announce her passing, on May 6, 2020 at the age of 82. Yvonne had a beautiful life with her husband “Blackie” Adolphe Blackburn of 61 years. She was born in Portsmouth England, and at the age of 20 took her first cruise across the Atlantic where she met her sole mate Blackie in Halifax, NS. Together they lived in six countries, four of Canada’s provinces and traveled to many more places. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, many of which were cruises, as well as golfing, and camping with family and friends. Yvonne and Blackie spent 25 years of their winters in Yuma and summers in Cranbrook. Mom was always up for an adventure with anything that was put in front of her. Yvonne is survived by her husband Adolphe “Blackie” Blackburn of 61 years, her children Steve (Pat), Janita (Mike), Tony (Chantelle), Eric, and Suzanne (John), 14 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. We will have a celebration of life with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Yvonne’s honour to Cancer Research.
