Betty Ann Pilch Obituary

Betty Ann Pilch, 65, of Hamden, passed away quietly on May 7, 2020 at Arden House in Hamden, after a 35 year battle with MS and complications from COVID-19. Betty was born July 14, 1954, in Torrington. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Pilch and Elsie (Keeler) Pilch. Betty graduated from Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury in 1972. She began working at Woodbury Savings Bank, then to Easter Seals in Waterbury, then to Quinnipiac, and then to SCSU until her MS forced her to retire. Betty loved dogs, horses, friends and family. She loved meeting new people and they almost always became friends. Her favorite place was Mohegan Sun and she spent many happy hours there. Betty leaves her best friend/caregiver Roberta Held of Hamden, whose dedication and love supported and sustained Betty for over 35 years. Thank you forever Roberta. She also leaves her brothers Wayne Pilch of Tucson, Arizona, and Ronald Pilch (Pamela) of Woodbury, her sister Susan Pilch of Woodbury, her niece Tammy Kimball (Scott) and their children Jami and Haylee of Southbury, her niece Tracy Pilch of Woodbury, and her dear friend Darlene Upson of Woodbury. The family would like to thank Betty’s aide Wendy. She cared for Betty as if she were her own daughter. They bonded quickly and became best friends. We are very grateful and now consider her a part of the family. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother Leonard Pilch, and her wonderful friend from school years Joyce Sanderson. Per Betty’s wishes, there are no services scheduled. Betty is in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, Hamden, CT.
