Custer E. Rudd

Custer E. Rudd, age 87, of Winston, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017.  He was born on November 26, 1929, in Cutuno, Kentucky, the son of the late Hiram Green Rudd and the late Millie Rowe Rudd.  He graduated from Hazel Green Academy in 1951 and joined the United States Air Force shortly thereafter—becoming a decorated member of the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville where he served as a Greeter, an Usher, and a member of the Sonrisers Sunday School Class.  Mr. Rudd was a sales representative for Standard Press Steel until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening.  He was passionate about his wife, children and grandchildren.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Rollie, Ann &amp; Oliver. He is survived by his wife of over 54 years: Frances Fitts Rudd of Winston, GA; son and daughter-in-law: Adrian and Heather Rudd of Cumming, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Kimberly and Brian Robinson of Winston, GA, and Pamela and Todd Cargal of Carrollton, GA; brother and sister-in-law: Cordis and Evelyn Rudd of Newnan, GA; sister: Sara Nickel of Newnan, GA; grandchildren: Courtney Widener and her husband, Brenton, Chance Pike and his wife, Katie, Hunter Williamon, Hayden Jones, Colton Rudd, Ashlyn Rudd, and Bryce Cargal; great grandchildren: Noah Widener and Kadence Pike; seven nieces and five nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington and Reverend Danny West officiating. Music will be rendered by Owen Davidson. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Douglasville on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
