Margaret Vaught Hylton Obituary

Margaret Vaught Hylton, 87, of Lynchburg, beloved wife of 63 years, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, January 11, 2017. She was the loving wife of William A. Hylton. Born January 25, 1929 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Erma Kessinger Vaught. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, William A. Hylton, Jr. of Lynchburg; a daughter, Anna Lee Clark and husband, Ronald of Midlothian; three grandchildren, William Matthew Hylton and Mary Kristina Hylton of Lynchburg and Amanda Clark Lopez and husband, Pina of Midlothian; three great-grandchildren, Madisen Angelina Romero, Frank Anthony Romero and Liam William Lopez; a sister, Ethel Dillon of Christiansburg; a brother, Homer Vaught and wife, Maxine of Ironto; two very special friends, Becky Moore and Evelyn Moore; and other relatives and friends. Margaret was a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church for 58 years and a member of the Woman’s Circle at church. She was the past president of the Shriners Ladies Club; loved the Blue Ridge Mountains, gardening, flowers, dogs and cats, birds and all things outside. She loved being a grandmother and cherished her family. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church by Rev. Bart Edwards with burial to follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Margaret Hylton to Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5810 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
