Joseph Frederick Uhlman

Uhlman, Joseph Frederick- 79 of Mooseland Road, Tangier passed away peacefully on April 28, 2020 in the Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in Bridgewater, NS on June 3, 1940 he was the son of the late Maxwell and Jessie (Bush) Uhlman. Freddie worked with many construction companies over the years. Settling in with G.A Smith Ltd where he learnt his craft running heavy equipment. Carrying on and ending his career as a heavy equipment operator with Municipal Contracting/Dexter Construction. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing and an all-around outdoor sportsman. He was a member of the Living Water Baptist Church in Sheet Harbour. Freddie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years Evelyn “Mom” (White) Uhlman, daughters Marlene Hiller (Joe) and Linda Westendale , son Duane, 4 grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Joey Jr., Taylor, Megan, Deena and 1 great-grandchild Emma Rose, sisters Fania Rawding and Connie (Kevin) McNutt, brothers Wesley, Steve, and Ashley, sisters-in-law Nora Cameron and Myrtle Lynch along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He is predeceased by one brother Mark. Special thanks to the EHS Attendants who responded, Dr MacDonald and nursing staff on duty where he passed away peacefully. A loved one has gone from our circle On earth we will meet him no more He has gone to his home in heaven And all his afflictions are o’er. Cremation has taken place. Due to the current Nova Scotia Health regulations concerning the Covid-19 Virus, there will be a graveside committal service held at a later date. Donations in memory of Freddie can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society, Living Water Baptist Church, Sheet Harbour or charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
