Prakash Chandra Ramdhan, 93, a resident of Jamaica, NY and previously of Bonasika and Georgetown, Guyana, died on April 28, 2020 at Highland Care Center. Born on September 19, 1926 in Canal No1 Polder, Demerara, Guyana, Prakash was the son of Ramdhan and Basmati of Guyana. On April 1, 1956 in Canal No 1 Polder, Demerara, Prakash married Ghendia Ramdhan who survives at home. Prakash was a farmer in Bonasika Creek, Essequibo and an entrepreneur in Georgetown, Guyana; a retail clerk and a security guard in New York. He was also a member of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization. In addition to his wife, Prakash is survived by his children, Nalini Persaud of Richmond Hill, Vijay Ramdhan of Watervliet, Narendra Ramdhan and his wife Savitri Budhu Ramdhan of Boynton Beach, FL, Geeta Persaud and her husband Omesh Persaud of Green Township, NJ, Roma Ramdhan and her husband Narmil Singh of Ozone Park, Shardha Ramdhan and her fiance Bonito Chanderbali of Gainesville, FL; his grandchildren, Bhanu, Sarika & Arvind Persaud, Falicia & Sesha Ramdhan, Kareena Singh and his great grandchild, Illythia Robles; He is also survived by his sisters Satiowti Dyal & Karnowti Ramdhan; his Sisters-in-law Chandrouti Persaud, Nandini Persaud & Ann Shakuntala Ramdhan; his Brothers-in-law Rohit, Bharat, Chaitram, Roopnarine & Surendra Surujnarine and Rampersaud Tiwari. He was the brother of the late Deosankar Persaud, Atmaram Persaud, Chitranjan Ramdhan and Jaiowti Tiwari. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peace Village Learning and Retreat Center, 54 O’Hara Road, Haines Falls, NY 12436, www.peacevillaretreat.org.
