Marilyn M. Riggs

Marilyn Margaret Riggs, a longtime resident of Milford, devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Milford Historical Society, died on April 13, 2020. 

Marilyn loved gardening and had a beautiful backyard filled with perennials. She enjoyed flea markets and antique shows and loved cooking for and entertaining others. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Albert Riggs in 2012; her son, David in 2017 and her sister, Kathleen Smigielski. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Phil Turkington) Riggs and Deborah (John) Serafano; granddaughter, Claire (Brian) Phillips; great-grandson, Mason Phillips; siblings, Leonard Mayhew, Jerome (Mildred) Mayhew and Janine Bemis; brother-in-law, Joseph Riggs; dedicated friends, Mark and Diana Stephens and their children, Athena, Renae Mark II and Timothy, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Burial will take place privately at Milford Memorial Cemetery.

I remember all of the Holiday dinners at Grandma Woodworth's house. Marilyn, Al, and a few of us would walk around the millpond after dinner. We never washed a dish! Those were good times.

Marilyn and Al were a wonderful couple. We have many good memories of attending musical/jazz events, and sharing dinners with them! They were a family of talented musicians! We will miss them!
