Patricia Hines
Patricia (Pat) Hines, 83, of Plainfield, IL, passed away April 9th, 2020, quietly in her sleep. She was born in Santa Monica, CA on January 19th, 1937, the daughter of J. Edmund Grogan and Rose-Marie Grogan (nee McInerny). Pat grew up in Omaha, NE and Oak Park, IL and graduated from Oak Park High school in 1955. There she met her husband Richard (Dick) Hines, whom she married in 1957. They had a long and loving marriage until his death in 1991. She raised their three children, Cynthia Stone, Daniel Hines, and Wendy Hines, and then at the age of 40 went to college, earning a bachelors degree from Aurora University, and a masters degree from Northern Illinois University. After this she had a long and successful career as an educational administrator at Joliet Junior College. Pat loved the theater, reading, and her cats. She loved her family, and was a special presence in the lives of all her grandchildren. She had many close friends in the Joliet area, all who will miss her sorely. Pat is predeceased by her parents, J. Edmund and Rose-Marie, her brother James Grogan, and her beloved husband Dick. She is survived by her sisters Mary Grogan and Cathy Avila, her children, Cynthia, Daniel, and Wendy, and grandchildren Marlon Robert Kendall, Sarah Hines, Maggie Hines, Dominic Radcliffe-Hines, Lizzy Stone, Andy Stone, Alicia Noriega, and Melisa Granoff.
