Ruth Geraldine Griffith

Ruth Geraldine (nee Spicer) Griffith, age 89, of Alexandria, Kentucky , beloved wife of the late Edward Griffith, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospice of Edgewood, Kentucky. Geraldine was born on February 6, 1927 to the late Floyd and Ola Spicer. She was a retired grade school teacher that taught at AD Owens in Newport, Kentucky. She is survived by her sons, Charles (Lillie) Griffith and Roger (Shirley) Griffith; daughter, Phyllis (Bill) Patrick; brother, Howard Spicer; sisters, Eva Hall and Betty Hill; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Edward Griffith, and parents, Floyd and Ola Spicer, Geraldine was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Lynn Griffith. Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Geraldine will be laid to rest in the Dan B. Griffith Cemetery at Shoulderblade, Kentucky. Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria, Kentucky on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. Friends may also visit Watts Funeral Home in Jackson, Kentucky after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
