Suddenly at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Friday, April 3, 2020, in his 93rd year, Bruce Ashcroft. Beloved husband of the late Rosalee (2017) and Marion (1991). Loving father of Robert and his wife Stella, of St. Thomas; Barbara and her husband Murray Luxon, of Millgrove; Beckie and her husband Steve Wheaton, of Milton; Brian and his wife Cathie, of Beamsville; and stepdaughter Sandra and her husband Tony Tanghe, of Delhi. Cherished by his grandchildren Tiffany, Kenneth, Tammy, Brett, Gregory, Lee-Ann, Heather, Sarah and his 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Bruce will be dearly missed by his sister Kaye and her husband Bill Clarke, sister-in-law Doreen, son-in-law Jim Riddell, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cyril and Jessie Ashcroft; of Burlington, daughter Carol Riddell (2014), grandson Christopher (1976) and brother Warren (2006). Bruce was employed at Stelco Steel in Hamilton as a Senior planner. Prior to this, he was a journeyman carpenter, and a draftsman. He was an amateur radio operator, was a member of the Port Dover Royal Canadian Legion – Branch #158 and was an active member within the Hickory Hills seniors community. Arrangements entrusted to the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020. A funeral service will be held at a later date and arrangements will be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
