Geneva Marie Cable, age 89, of Zelienople, entered into glory to be with her Lord on Monday, December 26, 2016 while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community. Born March 19, 1927 in Center Twp., she was the daughter of the late Alvie and Mary (Badger) Spencer. Geneva was a member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople where she served as church school secretary, treasurer and teacher for many years. Her extensive work history includes serving as Lancaster Twp. auditor for 14 years, as Lancaster Twp. Chairman for the American Cancer Crusade for 8 years, as a secretary at Citizens National Bank in Evans City, and several other businesses including Kwik N’ Eze Mfg. & Butler Refrigeration Delivery. She was also an income tax preparer and sold Avon & Amway. Geneva also served on the reunion committee for the Evans City High School class of 1945 for several years. Geneva will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker, an avid crafter and artist, who loved birds and was proud of her Irish Heritage. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Mindy J. Cable, of Cranberry Twp.; her son, Gary S. (Betsy) Cable, of Lakeland, FL: her grandson, Bryant (Melissa) Cable, of Mulberry, FL; her granddaughter, Bethany (Steve) Fisher of Riverview, FL; her sister-in-law, Miriam (Carl, dec.) Cable, of Harmony; her life-long friend, Bernice Eakin of Grove City; two close family friends, Pam North of Zelienople and Pam Best of Cranberry Twp., and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. Cable, whom she married on August 29, 1946 and who passed away on October 7, 2004, and her sister, Florence Bond. Friends will be received from 3-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063. A funeral ceremony will be held in Geneva’s honor at 11 A.M. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
