Brenda Talavera, 42, of Stamford, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Orient St. Church of Christ with Dr. Tony Roach, Sr. and Mike Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Girard Cemetery, Kent County, Texas under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home in Stamford. Brenda Gail Segura was born on February 17, 1974 in Stamford, Texas, the daughter of the late Basilio, Sr. and Santiaga (Ruiz) Segura. She graduated from Richland Springs High School. Brenda married Jose Talavera on September 26, 2000 in Lueders. She was previously employed by the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her kids and entire family. She also liked to go antique shopping, traveling and loved to sing and worship her Lord. Brenda was a member of Minda Street Church of Christ in Abilene. Preceding Brenda in death were her parents; and a sister, Norma Gene Segura. Loving family left to cherish Brenda’s memory are her husband, Jose Talavera of Abilene; two daughters, Debra Gamboa of Richland Springs, Gabrielle Gamboa of Abilene; two sons, Angel Gamboa, David Ledesma, both of Abilene; her mother, Linda Carta of Llano; seven brothers, Rene, Angel, Phillip, Basilio Jr., James, Elias and Chris Segura; four sisters, Melissa Velasquez, Diane Barron, Belinda Segura, Ruffles Villanueva; five grandchildren, D.J., Samantha and Ezmirelda Ledesma, Sophia and Giovanni Gordon; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and her countless numbers of friends. Serving as pallbearers for Brenda are Alex Segura, Julian Segura, Julio Segura, Hilario Segura, Jr., Andy Anguiano, Santos Vega and Daniel Branton.
