Mr. Mike McBurnett, age 55, of Rockmart, GA passed away, Saturday, March 28, 2020. He was born in Rockmart, GA on June 23, 1964, a son of the late James Lee McBurnett and the late Mozelle Dyer McBurnett. Mike had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a graduate of Rockmart High School. He enjoyed traveling and drag racing. Mike had a passion for hard work and was owner of McBurnett Enterprises DBA K & M Contractors. Survivors include his wife, Karyl Wheelis McBurnett, to whom he was married on February 2, 2002; two daughters: Amanda Griffin and her husband Aaron and Kristen Hicks and her husband, Justin; five grandchildren; two sisters: Susan Wood and Pam McBurnett; nieces and nephews; and special friends: Gary, Tom, Ed and Ryan. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. McBurnett was cremated and no formal services are going to be held at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Mike. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory makes this announcement for the family.
