Pearl River, NY — Anthony Louis Florentino, 85, died Friday, March 27, 2020 at Good Samaritan hospital in Suffern, NY. He leaves his wife of 57years, Theresa (Marsigliano) Florentino; his sister, Marie (Florentino) Heath, niece Leah (Heath) Valdina and husband John Valdina, niece Helena Roland-Heath, and great nephew ChristopherAshley; nephew Joseph Marsigliano, wife Mary Marsigliano, great niece Jillian Marsigliano, great nephew Matthew Marsigliano; nephew Michael Marsigliano, wife Alejandra Marsigliano, great niece Christine Marsigliano; nephew Leonard Marsigliano, wife Maureen Marsigliano, great nephew Leonard Marsigliano, great nephew John Marsigliano; nephew Christopher Marsigliano and Jacqueline Shilkoff. Anthony was born and raised in Bronx, NY, the son of Louis and Ida Florentino. He attended William Howard Taft High School. He served in the Unites States Army from July 1957 until July 1959. He married Theresa in 1962 and moved to Pearl River in 1968 and was a 52-year resident until the time of his passing. He worked for Dugan’s Bread from 1964 until 1966, Wonder Bread from 1966 until 1991, and the State of New York from 1991 until 2003. Anthony had a passion for his family, sports, music, and cooking. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and his ability to make others laugh and feel good. He was devoted to his parish, St. Aedan’s of Pearl River. He passed his love of sports on to his nephews and frequently attended games with his father at the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him and his kind spirit. A memorial service will be held for all to attend at a future date.
