John David Vanni, 69 of Lodi, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Lodi, after a period of declining health. He was born April 9, 1950 in Lodi to the late David and Katherine (Gedos) Vanni. John graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1968. He operated his family’s business, Mack’s Food Center in Lodi for many years. John was deeply loved and will be missed by all that enjoyed his warm and generous heart and his engaging conversations. He is survived by his brother, Michael Vanni (Carla Hickey,) of San Juan Capistrano, CA; niece Cara Bran (Eddie Bran), grand-nephews Jesse Bran and Kaden Bran, of Laguna Niguel, CA; niece Amanda Vanni, (Mathew Mejia) of Manhattan Beach, CA, Nancy Vanni (mother of Cara and Amanda) of San Juan Capistrano, CA. and his dog Jack, whom he dearly loved. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date after COVID 19. At that time we will place another announcement in the newspaper inviting all who wish to join us for a celebration of the life and times of John Vanni. There will be a short prayer service, after which the celebration/party will begin. I am sure many of us will enjoy telling 50 years of John stories.
