July 11, 1961 - March 27, 2020<br/> <br/>Phillip "Flip" Dwayne Thrift,58, of Gurley, passed away Friday.<br/><br/> Mr. Thrift was a retiree from the City of Huntsville Public Works Department with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the New Hope Saddle Club and a lifelong cowboy. Mr. Thrift was a beloved Daddy, Paw Paw, and Birdie.<br/><br/>He was preceded in death by father, Ronnie Thrift. <br/><br/>Surviving are daughter, Amber (Morgan) Ellis; son, Justin (Rae Anne) Thrift; mother, Doris Thrift; granddaughter, Madeline Thrift; grandsons, Wyatt Ellis, Shepard Ellis, McCoy Ellis and Justin Wayne Thrift; sisters, Rhonda (Mike) Birchfield, Donna (Steve) Hornbuckle, and Lisa (Conrad) Morton; multiple nieces and nephews; kindred friends, Greg and Harriet Glover, Shane Glover, Bo Glover, and Adam Glover.<br/><br/>A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, April 1st at 1:00 PM. <br/><br/>Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.<br/><br/> www.nhfh.net<br/>July 11, 1961 - March 27, 202007/11/196103/27/2020

Amber and family. Am so sorry to hear of the loss of ur Dad. Am sure u are all in a state of shock but u have wonderful memories. Keep God in ur heart as he will take care of u and ur family. May God bless u all and we will keep all of u in our prayers.
