SPEHAR; Tonica Tonica passed away at the Maple Grove Community Care, Brampton, on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in her 86th year. Dearly loved mother of Matt (Carm) and loved grandmother of John, Maria and Matthew. Also survived by her sister Dragica and family in Croatia, sister Danica and family in Australia and brother Ljudevit and family in Croatia. Predeceased by her son Bill and husband John. Tonica was born in Croatia on July 20, 1934. She came to Canada in 1957, settled in Acton and worked at the Beardmore Tannery until her retirement in 1986. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and her many friends. A special thank you to the staff of Maple Grove Community Care. The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E., Acton on Friday, March 27, 2020 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations in memory of Tonica may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
