Vincent J. DeSio, Jr.
Vincent J. DeSio, Jr., formerly of Forest Ave., Springville, died Wednesday March 25, 2020 in The Pines of Machias at the age of 94. He was born May 10, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio a son of the late Vincent J. Sr. and Agnes (nee Kittinger) DeSio. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 101st Airborne Division during World War II. He was an official U.S. Defense Agent for the U.S. Treasury Department from which he was honorably discharged on December 31, 1945. He was a Foreman in the Stereotype Department of the Buffalo News and was involved with the Springville League for the Handicapped (The Children's League) and enjoyed hunting and golfing. His wife Ruth (nee Hendler) DeSio passed away February 19, 2007. He is survived by his children - James DeSio of Little Valley, Richard DeSio of Longmont, CO, Thomas DeSio of Delevan, Michele DeSio of North Collins, Sharon (Ron) Jeffery of Suches, GA; two grandchildren - Jurlia and Aidan, a brother-in-law - Robert Johnson of Palmetto Bay, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister - Kathryn Johnson. There are no calling hours. Private graveside services in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville will be held at the convenience of the family.
