Zulrizal Putih Obituary

Zulrizal, “Rizal”, “Riz” Azhari Putih - a deeply beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend - unexpectedly passed in his apartment in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, March 20, 2020. He died 3 days after his 32nd birthday. He was born in Jakarta, Indonesia but brought to Los Angeles as a baby, where he spent most of his childhood. He lived the majority of his teenage and adult life in Santa Barbara, CA with his father - where he built many long-lasting and loving relationships. He graduated a proud Don and attended the local city college, where he received several AA degrees before eventually overcoming overwhelming odds to find success and stability at Wells Fargo Advisors in Los Angeles. He resided there the last several years of his life. “Riz was the one who never said ‘no’”, says those closest to him. He was someone who never seemed to run out of things to give. The things that mattered. Energy, time, support, love, encouragement. He gave everything free of judgment and full of genuine spirit. Many friends considered and loved him like family. Rizal loved to be around friends and they, in turn, loved to be around him. He could always be counted on to be a source of joy and light no matter the situation. He never lost his childlike wonder and imagination. He was someone who never had it easy. Someone who always had another hill to climb. And instead of becoming deterred he became determined. Hungrier. More motivated to be successful despite it all. And just before tragedy hit, he made it all happen. “He died winning”, says his closest and most trusted friend, Buddy Lantz. He is survived by his father, Zubir Putih; his mother, Linda Rachmat; his grandmother, Sri Bulan; his uncles, Zainal Putih, Sidin Putih, Edmund C. Alamares, Efendi Rachmat, Sadikin Rachmat, Linggadi Wisanajaya, Susanto Tanudjaja, and Alkie Sutandra; his aunts, Suin Putih, Ling Peh, Helen C. Kusuma, Bony Wibowo Oey, Lilis Rachmat, Nurhajati Rachmat, Yovita Ivana Lioe, Victoria Lay Fie Siang, and Mikaela; his cousins, Kevin Putih, Jessica Putih, Idaleen Ching, Virlana Efendi, Virdiana Hilda, Adryo Rachmat, Velicia Rachmat, Nikolas Wiarto Rachmat, Erin Rachmat, Catherine Arliano Limosa, Ervinna Limosa, Kharis Limosa, Riandie Tanudjaja, Riankie Tanudjaja, Imelda Tanudjaja, Alwin Yulius Sutandra, Aybert Yakob Sutandra, Aldrich Yan Sutandra, and Alroy Yuan Sutandra; many of his dearest friends who considered him family, including The Lantzs and The Budiardjonos; and dozens of close friends in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and the greater state of CA. A Viewing will be held at and arranged by McDermott-Crockett & Associates Mortuary on Saturday, April 4th 2020.
