Cherryville - Mrs. Jayme A. Smith, 71, formerly of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her residence. Jayme was born on June 18, 1948 in Marshall, Missouri, a daughter of the late Jim Gabb and Eugenia Kelly Vaughn Gabb. She was retired as a commercial property manager. Jayme was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and to all who knew her she was a light in this world. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Carmen Helm and husband Shayne of Cherryville; a son, Jeffrey R. Harris and wife Audrey of Huntington Beach, California; two grandchildren Emily Wilkinson and husband Nick and Dylan Helm and wife Savannah; a great grandson, Sawyer Helm; a sister, Gina Sandwith of Columbia Missouri and a brother, Jimmy Gabb of Omaha, Nebraska. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherd's Way, Dallas, NC 28034 or to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486 Houston, Texas 77210-4486.
