BERTELSEN, Shirley Margaret

Passed away peacefully at ARCH on Friday March 20, 2020 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of David for the past 64 years. Loving mother of Karen Bennett and Brian Bertelsen (Scarlett). Grandmother to Katrina, Brett and Rayna. Special sister to Jackie Healy. Sister in law of Martin Bertelsen (late Joyce). Aunt to Stephen, Shannon (John), Lynn and Kevin (Diana). Daughter of the late Lorna Chiapetta and Albert Stares. Cherished granddaughter of John and Margaret McLean. Shirley has numerous relatives in the Stares, McLean and Routledge families. Shirley had many lifelong friends who she enjoyed spending time with. Thank you to Dr. Wilson, Dr. Rassouli and the caring staff of the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Center for the care you have given Shirley over the years in her many battles with cancer. Thank you to the staff at ARCH for the care and compassion you gave her in her final days. There will not be any service held at this time.
