Marvin Wesley Barrett

Marvin Wesley Barrett, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, at the VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born January 2, 1950, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Charles Joseph and Stella Marie (Herbrandt) Barrett. He was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Marvin served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Marvin worked in the Construction field, Capitol Supply, and for Tallman Company retiring in 2004. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the Osage River. Marvin loved his family and friends. He also loved keeping up on what was going on in the world. He was an avid FOX News fan. Survivors include one son, Marvin (Kristen) White, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Christfur (Lexi) White, CA; Leah (Carter) Johnson, TX; Elena White, MO; Gideon White, MO; Eli White, MO; three siblings, Charles “Woody” Barrett, Jefferson City; Patricia Snellen, Jefferson City; Deborah Barrett, St. Martins; several nieces and nephews, Diana Cooper and her children, Rose Cooper, Samuel Cooper, Timothy (Amanda) Chandler and their son, Logan; Christine (Dave) Sublette and their children, Shayna (Stacy) Sinor, Autumn Sublette (fiancé Jordan Rust), Alayna Sublette; Troy Snellen (Greg Nelson); Laura (David) Crocker; Jason (Tara) Snellen and their children, Blake Snellen, Jake Snellen, and Brock Snellen; Charles Austin Barrett (fiancée Yoshelin Medina); and many great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Helen Mary Barrett; infant brother, Allen Joseph Barrett; sister, Caroline Cliburn; brother-in-law, Larry Snellen; a great-great nephew, Hunter Chandler; and aunt, Doris Jean Thompson. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
