Irelene Neeley, 80, Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her home. Irelene was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was expecting her first great-great grandchild at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Willard Sylvester Neeley of Mt. Vernon; six children, Lanita Sue (Joe) Denny of Paint Lick, Willard Darryl (Jennifer) Neeley of Brodhead, Eva Malinda Neeley (Bruce Waddles) of Mt. Vernon, Marilyn Elaine (David) Gastineau of Mt. Vernon, Kristie Karen (James) Thacker of Mt. Vernon, and Anthony Dana “Tony” (Becky) Neeley of Mt. Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Paul Northern of Mt. Vernon, Betty Baldwin of Campbellsville, Ray Northern of Mt. Vernon, and Dan Northern of Hinton, WV. Irelene was born in Ohio to the late Delbert and Elva Saylor Northern. She was a member of Big Hill Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her great grandparents, Willy and Ada Alexander Saylor and William Franklin and Mary Eliza Baker Northern; two brothers, Jack and Charles Northern and Reacie Isaacs. In light of the current health and safety risks involved, the services for Mrs. Neeley will be private. Bro. Steve Isaacs and Bro. Larry Day will officiate the services and she will be buried in Fairview Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jerry Wayne Husband, Joseph Husband, James Robert Blair, Jeremy Neeley, A.J. Jones, Johnathan Portwood, Josh Neeley and Jacob Neeley. Condolences may be left for the family at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
