Evans Turpin

Evans Turpin passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on December 19, 1934 to S.E. “Bud” Turpin and Mary Mae Dimmick. Evans was a long-time resident of Iraan, Texas. He was a Petroleum Engineer who worked for Marathon Oil Company for 29 years. He retired in 1986. He was past mayor of the town and active in the Iraan Methodist Church and the Iraan Archeological Society for many years. He and his late wife, Alice, loved to travel the United States in their Motorhome together. Evans was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Alice Jean Card Turpin. Evans is survived by his daughter, Shirley Casassa and grandchildren, Christina, Bryan and Pat; son, Allen Turpin and grandchildren, Shawna and Edward and Bruce Turpin and wife DeBora and grandchildren, Adam Turpin and Summer Howard and great grandchildren, Capri and Elmer Howard. Also, a brother, Richard Turpin and children, Amy and Jon Turpin and a sister, Patsy O’Brien Hall and children, Tracy Mauldin and Dyer Chapman. There will be Memorial service for Evans in the near future.
