Bruce A. Tremblay
Bruce Tremblay, 54, of Westville, NY passed away on March 20, 2020 at 6:35pm., at his home, while under the loving care of his wife and family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc. Born at Alice Hyde hospital in Malone, NY on October 19th, 1965, he is the son of the late Lyle Tremblay and Joan (Avery) Tremblay. Bruce married the love of his life Orsielyn “Lyn” Bautista of San Francisco, CA., on August 3rd, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Church in Malone, NY. She survives. It was truly a match made in Heaven, as Lyn’s original visa to come to the U.S. was approved on Bruce’s birthday — October 19th! After Lyn had gained her citizenship, they married — and in the process he also gained the daughter he’d always wanted — Noreen Bautista Tremblay. He always said she was the best daughter a man could ever hope for! Bruce graduated from high school in 1984, SRCS, Fort Covington, NY, then earned his AAs in Business Administration from NCCC. Many years ago, he worked as a Radio Announcer at WMSA, Massena, NY. He graduated from the Vermont State Corrections Academy in Pittsford, Vermont, before working as a Corrections Officer at the old Woodstock, Vermont State Prison. He then went to work for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department in Malone, NY where he worked for many years as a “C.O.” He took a two year “siesta” to live in Hawaii, where he worked as an armed citizen guard at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii. Then finished his career back at the Sheriff’s Department in Malone, NY, retiring in 2012 due to ill health. His dad, Lyle, gave him a great love of the outdoors from an early age taking him fishing, coaching his marksmanship, etc. Bruce loved to fish, hunt, hike, shoot, etc. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting snowshoe hare and grouse (partridge), sometimes with his old beagle, Spud McKenzie. His favorites were deer hunting with his family, bass fishing with his wife and daughter, and his occasional adventures in Quebec to hunt black bears. But he also just loved God’s Great Outdoors in general — the countryside, backyard barbeque, and cruising in his Mustang. He is a devout Christian, and gives all credit and glory to God, for the blessed life he was given. He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Fort Covington. He is survived by his wife, Orsielyn Tremblay, his daughter, Noreen Bautista Tremblay, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Kirk and Diane Tremblay of Westville, NY, Timmy and Kellie Tremblay of Brandon, VT, and two sisters, Deborah Tremblay and her husband, Jay Rodgers of Keizer, OR and Bonnie Tremblay and her partner Frank Lupton of Arvado, CO, as well as six nieces and nephews, Danny, Corey, Krissy, Lucas, Justin Tremblay and Dawn Fitchen. Calling hours for the family will be Tuesday, March 24, 2020 from 1 until 2 p.m., at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, in Bombay, NY. Memorial contributions can be made to The Hope Lodge in Burlington, VT — which helps cancer patients and their families, many of whom are from Upstate NY. Or the Vermont Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen.
