Michael U. Volbert

Michael U. Volbert, age 67, passed away Sunday, December 11th, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids on Friday, December 16 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Michael will be buried at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls, MN. Michael was born January 22nd, 1949 to Urban and Louise (Neis) Volbert. He was a loyal employee of Coborns in Sauk Rapids. Michael enjoyed spending time with friends at the VFW Post 4847. He loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. Michael was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps, having served his country in the Vietnam War. Survivors include his daughters, Laura (Scott) Rhodes of St. Anthony, Becky Copeland of Des Moines, IA and Amanda (Jeff) Pretti of Silver Spring, MD; brother and sisters, Charles, Mary Bohlig and Margaret Evenson; and grandchildren, Anya, Mila, Jacob and Elias. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the VFW Post #4847 in Michael’s name.
