A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at True Hope Fellowship in Virginia. Pastor Joel Kallberg will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Military Honors will be accorded by Virginia Servicemen’s Club Honor Guard. Burial will be in Eveleth Cemetery at a later date. Brian G. Leppanen, 70, of Eveleth, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born on August 11, 1946, in Eveleth, to Vaner and Hazel (Ritala) Leppanen. Brian served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as a welder for Lehman Fabricators in Mt. Iron. Brian was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Maack Johnson on February 23, 2008 at True Hope Fellowship in Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; children, Phillip C., Dwayne B., Barb E. Young, Bradley D.; step-children, Richard (Joleen) Johnson, Scott (Danya) Johnson, Stephanie Johnson; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Joan (Harvey) Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne.
