Elsie K. Johnson

Elsie K. Johnson, 91, entered into heaven on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Elsie was born on October 13, 1928 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to the late Andrew and Ella Wiest Keller. She graduated from Waterloo High School in Waterloo, New York, and had lived in Warner Robins since 1964. Elsie was a loving, devoted military wife and mother who cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She worked as a secretary at the Officer’s Club at Robins Air Force Base and at Linwood Elementary. Elsie was involved in the family business for over forty years and served as the Sunshine chair of the Military Surviving Spouses of RAFB. A strong, Christian woman, Elsie enjoyed reading her Bible and praying for others as well as supporting various missionaries. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for over forty years and was loved by many. She also served in the Air Force Sergeants’ Association Auxiliary and AARP. Her memory will be forever be engraved in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace “Johnny” Johnson; three brothers; five sisters and her parents. Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted children; Debra Brooks (Paul), Wallace “Buddy” Johnson (Mary), Sharon Gruber (Terry); twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2020, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following. Afterward, Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Elsie Johnson to Southside Baptist Church Missionary Fund at 1040 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.
